San Diego to Host Biotech Convention

BIO 2001, the International Biotechnology Convention & Exhibition, will take place in San Diego (CA, USA), June 24-27, at the Convention Center. More than 12,000 biotech industry leaders and executives from around the world are expected to attend. The convention will showcase the latest advances in health care, agriculture, industrial manufacturing, and environmental management from more than 750 exhibitors.

BIO 2001 will offer 16 program tracks, with panel presentations and symposia on a wide range of topics, including clinical and regulatory issues, converging sciences, policy and ethics, and intellectual property. San Diego is an ideal venue for the convention, boasting six technology clusters--bioscience, communications, information technology, defense and space, recreational goods, software, and the Internet--that give the city the third-largest concentration of life science companies in the United States.
